VR BREAKS GROUND ON NORTH CENTER SPORTS FIELDS!
On August 10, VR crews landed on the Center Street Sports Complex site to begin a 13 month construction process to provide 5 new lighted soccer fields for the City of Mesa. The $8.2 Million project is a key component of Mesa’s 2018 Bond Issue and will provide needed soccer facilities for the area. The fields will be supported by a combination restroom and office building and the site will provide room for food truck service.
The project includes offsite improvements to Center Street that will be coordinated with the undergrounding (or “tiling”) of an existing SRP open ditch irrigation lateral. Other accommodations are being made for protection fencing, shade, equestrian travel and landscape beautification. The project design will provide a rural aesthetic to compliment the unique characteristics of the area.
VR has been on board, working with the City of Mesa and the project Design Team to refine the plans providing the best possible value for the project. The first phases of work will be for demolition, mass grading and perimeter fencing.
