City of Scottsdale

Indian School Park & Lake

VR Assisted the City with USACE Approval to Work in the Floodplain.

Parks and Recreation | Lakes

The purpose of the project was to rebuild an existing 3.5 acre lake and to provide a new wet well and irrigation pumping system as a supply to park turf areas. The lake also provides a non-potable water source for the San Francisco Giants Practice Fields to the east of the project. The lake included a new RPP liner, concrete shoreline and water quality systems. The work was completed in the Indian Bend Floodway and required 408 permitting and the management of flood risks. Valley Rain provided permitting assistance with excavation methods and cut/fill diagrams to the USACE for approval to work in the floodplain. Additional work included upgrade of the pathways, parking lot, storm water conveyance, site furnishings and ADA improvements. Indian School Park was the first phase of several planned park and lake projects along the Indian Bend Wash. Our methods and quality established important standards for future phases. We maintained continuous City access to an existing potable well that could not be compromised.
