Alamar Community Park
Providing Community Space for the City and Developer.
ATHLETIC FACILITES
The new 40-acre community park is now complete, a result of a successful partnership between developer Brookfield Lakin and the City of Avondale. Valley Rain served as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for this project, selected through a public qualification-based process.
This park is the third large-scale addition to Avondale’s park and open space system, serving as a central hub for the expansive 1,130-acre Alamar Master Planned Community. It offers a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities for all ages, promoting a connection with nature.
At the heart of the park is a spacious “great lawn,” surrounded by an amphitheater, a 2.4-acre fishing and irrigation lake, walking pathways, playgrounds, a splash pad, two restroom buildings, eight ramadas, baseball facilities, sports courts, a multi-use field, an adult fitness court by the National Fitness Campaign, a dog park, and maintenance facilities. The landscaping reflects the area’s natural beauty and honors the rich history of the Alamar property. The project has successfully brought together various trades, resulting in an amazing community asset.
